Students’ lives on the campus are colorful. Most of our students are of wide interests and versatile. The school designed many courses on the basis of their interests, such as art-special classes, chess classes and embroidery classes. There are also chorus, wind band, and clubs of basketball, running and kickboxing. We hold sports meeting and Voice of Yangliu Art Festival every year. All these activities provide students with a platform to show their talents and display their personalities. We also organize different kinds of outdoor activities such as pottery art making, spring and autumn outings, visiting antique market and many other interesting social practices. The students take active part in these interesting activities.
The chorus was established as early as the school and has a history of 50 years. It has been awarded prizes many times, both on municipal-level and country-level. We set up a robot club this March, and several student members of the club were awarded first and second prizes in the competition organized by the city. They learned how to solve problems during the process of making and disassembling the robots and the ability of doing things by themselves was improved, meanwhile, their spirit of teamwork was also strengthened. In these many clubs, the most outstanding is the Taekwondo club, which was set up in June, 2009. Since it was established, it has always been the first class in many competitions. The members of the club were awarded in the municipal-level and country-wide competitions nearly every year. The have won countless cup and prize so far. OVERVIEW OF BINZHOU UNIVERSITY
Located in the modern and ecological landscape city---Binzhou City, the native residence of Sun Tzu (the well-known Chinese ancient military strategist in the 6th Century B.C.) and the hinterland of beautiful and rich Yellow River Delta, Binzhou University has more than 50 years‟ history up to now, being one of the comprehensive universities approved by Ministry of Education of the People‟s Republic of China in 2004 on the basis of Beizhen Teacher‟s College founded in 1958. Its campus covers an area of 159 hectares with a total property valuing 1.1 billion RMB, including an available building area of 540,000 square meters, 20 experimental centers and laboratories, teaching and scientific research equipment costing 77 million RMB, 1.6 million volumes of books in the library and so on. It provides higher education to over 35,000 students from Shandong Province and 21 other cities and provinces, among whom more than 17,000 students are full-time educated and about 18,000 students receive part-time education (adult education or distance education). The current number of teaching and administrative staff reaches 1254, among whom there are 905 teaching staff, 300 professors or associate professors, 580 staff members with doctor or master degree, 5 staff members being awarded the special allowance by the State Council, 3 staff members being the provincial academic backbones over Shandong Province, 1 staff member being among the 1000-most -well-known technical experts in Shandong Province, 5 staff members being among distinguished university-teachers in Shandong Province and 2 provincial-level teaching teams. Binzhou University provides „home‟ to the first Research Institute on Sun Tzu, the first Research Center of Safety Culture, the first Research Institute on Li Dazhao (a great revolutionary pioneer and ideologist in the 1900s) and Binzhou Branch of China Academy of Safety Science & Technology among Chinese universities. The funds on scientific research reach 18 million RMB. Over 160 monographs or textbooks and over 3,000 theses have been published, among which more than 117 have been collected by SCI and EI. Located in the West of Henan Province, Luoyang got its name due to its location in the adret of the ancient Luoshui River. It is a historic city with more than three thousand years history. It was the capital city for nine dynasties, including the East Zhou, East Han, Caowei, West Jin, North Wei, Sui, Wuzhou, Late Liang, Late Tang, so it is named as the "Ancient Capital of the Nine Dynasties", ranking top one among the seven ancient capitals in China. The Heluo area with Luoyang as the center is the important origin of the Huaxia Civilization.
Luoyang is also one of the top tourist cities in China with its numerous cultural relics. The city has inherited from history such cultural heritages as ruins of the old capital, temples and stone caves, and tombs and steles.

It was restructured(改组) and developed from the original Mechanical Engineering Department and Mechanology(机械学) Department ,and was formally(正式的) built up after the reshuffling of schools and departments in June,1994.In the school,there are 3 first class subjects authorized(授权) to offer 6 doctoral programs and 7 master’s degree programs .The school has also a State Key Laboratory of Manufacturing System and a Post-doctoral(博士后) Research Station of Mechanical Engineering which is among the first established post-doctoral research stations in China. At present,the school has about 200 teaching and administrative(行政) staff members ,including 60 professors,3 chief committee men of the State Teaching Instruction Committee for Basic Courses and 10 committee members of the State Instruction Committee for Specialty Basic Courses. The school is composed of 4 departments,3 teaching offices of basic courses,2 experiment centers, 12 research institutes(学院) and 1 training center .Over the past five years,5 state-level and 47 province- and ministry-level awards for teaching and research fruits have been obtained by the school .At present,the fund(基金) or outlay(经费) on scientific research has reached up to 10 million a year. The school has rich scientific research and intellectual(知识分子) resources ,and has formed its own characteristics in such scientific fields as RP&M, intelligent instrument(智能仪器) and monitoring inspection(自动检测) ,NC technology (数控技术),laser(激光) and infrared(红外) application ,vibration and noise control ,new materials preparation and surface engineering .Some research work has enjoyed high reputation at home and abroad. In the resent years ,with the development of electronic and information technology,computer science and laser machining ,the school has obtained remarkable scientific research achievements in RP technology, mechatronics and control technology, computer emulation and numerical analogue in solidification of metals .Especially the research on advanced manufacturing technology featuring rapid prototyping and manufacturing rose high abruptly above others ,taking a leading position in this field of the country. In addition, the newly established specialty-Industrial Design is posturing a completely new image to emulate the advanced domestic and international levels. The school has established comprehensive system for the fostering ,education and management of graduates .At present ,there are 200 master degree candidates and the same number of PhD candidates in the school .Being one of the earliest units to carry out the enrolling and fostering of masters of engineering ,the school can provide the program for masters of engineering in mechanical engineering and material science .Since 1998 the enrolled students pursuing master of engineering have reached 240. In undergraduate education, the school places emphasis on practice and innovation, aiming at fostering students with solid theoretical foundation and plentiful expertise as well as strong ability to analyze and solve practical engineering problems .The goal of the school is to nurture all-round and universal trans-century talents.
