四、多渠道选择优质句子, 使学生有句可背
学生所背诵的句子可选自不同的地方, 在高中一年级起始阶段我一般采用以下几种方式:

2.多词。在英语短文中，多余的词一般都是结构词，比如介词、代词以及冠词等，其中一种便是根据句子中涉及到的名词或者动词的特点、含义以及搭配来判断是不是存在多副词、冠词以及介词的情况，比如，in front of，in the front of 意思完全不一样；另一种情况则是根据整个句子的意义和结构来判断是不是多其他词或者连词，比如，用了although就不能再用but，等等。
3.错词。在英语短文改错中，错词的类型比较复杂，种类繁多，但是最常见的还是语法方面的错误和搭配方面的错误。最典型的比如to这个词，学生往往记不住它是介词还是动词不定式符号，后面该接动词原形还有动名词。
（1）名词。错用名词主要包含下面几点：首先是错误使用可数名词，什么时候该加es或s；其次是不可数名词和可数名词的混用；再次是将名词作为定语；第四是将抽象名词具体化，比如，surprise吃惊，惊奇为不可数，a surprise就是可数名词，令人吃惊的人或事；最后是错用名词所有格。面对这些情况，学生必须全面的掌握名词的用法，这样才能够找到其中存在的错误。
（2）代词。短文改错时，文章中出现的每一个代词，都应该详细检查其在文章中指代的相关内容和在句子中的作用，看其数、格以及词性是不是正确，前后是不是一致。
（3）冠词。在英语中，仅仅有三个冠词，但是冠词实用却比较复杂，在短文改错时，冠词实用错误包含了该使用冠词时没有使用、不该使用时却用了以及使用混乱。
（4）连词。在短文改错时，若是出现了连词，but，and，not only...but also等等，需要分析这个连词的使用是不是正确，和句子的意思是不是相符，其连接的是句子还是词语，逻辑关系是不是符合。若是结构平行，那么需要注意前后的语态、时态以及词性是不是一致。
四、对句子结构进行检查
在短语改错过程中，需要检查整个句子的语法结构是不是正确，比如主语和谓语是不是一致，动词的语态、时态以及语气使用是不是恰当，名词和代词的数量、性质是不是存在错用的情况。
五、通过二次阅读，解决存在问题
在短文改错时，短文中的行文逻辑以及语篇结构方面的错误比较隐蔽，对于这种事情不能太着急。可以用个上下文的语境来揣摩，最终解决存在的问题。
六、通过全文复核来进行答案验证
在题目解答完毕后，需要将改正后的答案套到原文中去，并进行全文通读，对上下文的语气进行检查，看语意是不是连贯，整篇文章是不是通顺，语法结构和时态呼应方面能不能做到浑然一体。人物之间的逻辑关系和称谓是不是正确。词语的搭配是不是正确，然后再将答案和使用的相关符号进行查看和对照，看是不是和题目的相关要求吻合，确保短文改错不会出现技术性的失分。
在短文改错时，需要注意的方面还比较多，教师在教学过程中需要重视经验的积累，创新手段。改错题的难度比较大，不但考察了学生的综合阅读能力和英语基础能力，还要求在这个基础上将学生的知识潜能、归纳思维、分析判断以及应考能力调动起来，这样才可能做好英语短文改错题目。
