简谈高考英语口语面试及其应对第3篇

随着我国国力的增强, 对外合作交流的日益深入, 社会对高素质外语人才的需求不断增长。在国际交流中, 外语除了作为社交工具, 还承担着沟通不同文化、传播中华文明的使命。在我国, 每年都有许多报考国内高等院校语言类专业的高中毕业生面临着一个对他们来说很困难的问题:英语口语面试。

一、口语面试对能力的要求

就口语面试而言, 虽然考查形式大不相同, 但是几乎所有的口试部分都是面对面的交流。口语面试是一项实战性很强的语言表达过程, 它是对学生语言水平、思辨能力、语言综合文化素养的检测, 要求考生不仅具备较扎实的语言功底, 还要有临战时良好的心理素质。近年的口语面试都对面试者的口语表达能力提出了较高的要求。因此, 修改后的我国英语教学大纲更强调了语言是交际工具 (a toll for communication) 、思维工具 (the dress of thought) 、文化载体 (a carrier of culture) 。

不过, 尽管形式迥异, 口试部分对于考生的口头表达能力的要求都是基本一致的。

A) 能力要求:

考生应能参与一般性或专业学术话题的讨论, 不仅能够询问事实, 还能询问抽象的信息;

能够就某一观点的正确与否进行争论, 详细说明一个问题、一个过程或一个事件;

能够就某个一般性的问题或者所熟悉的问题进行阐述。

B) 语言要求:

使用适当、精确的语言表达思想, 并能说出较长的、内容连贯的、达意的话语;

交流中途由于考虑措辞及语言的恰当性可以有正常的迟疑或停顿;

积极自如地进行交流, 并能使用有效的交流补救措施。

二、口语面试的形式及其技能

对于口语能力的考查, 各个学校的测试方式不同, 就是同一个学校的不同专业也是不一样的。有的学校制定了非常详尽的测试流程和评分标准, 甚至规定了每个面试考官发问的方式和时间;有的学校只是由面试老师自由发挥, 成绩也基本上由面试老师自主裁定。面试的考官一般有两名;每组考试一般有一名考生参加, 有时也会有两至三名考生同时参加。就口语测试的具体形式而言, 大概有以下几种形式。

1. 自我介绍。

这几乎是每一个学校都会采用的口语考查方式, 必须给予足够的重视。而且, 它有两种具体实现的方式: (1) 让考生自己以独白或演讲的方式完成, (2) 是考官参与一系列提问的方式帮助考生完成自我介绍。自我介绍一般可以涉及名字 (谁起的、有什么特殊含义等) 、家庭 (成员、成员之间的关系等) 、家乡 (位置、气候、交通、工业、特产、风景等) 、兴趣爱好 (是什么、为什么、频度) 、个性 (描述、优缺点) 、生活 (学校、表现、特别技能、同学相处、总体评价、成长的过程等) 、报考原因、未来计划、梦想 (是什么、准备怎样实现) 等内容。以上不需要都提及, 但要选取自己最感兴趣、最有把握、最能给考官留下深刻印象的话题, 适当展开。考场上, 用英语表达要尽量展现出流利而不是背诵的感觉。

2. 朗读文章。

这种考查模式可操作性很强, 只需要提供一篇指定的短文或对话, 要求考生朗读即可。一般是一个人进行, 不排除也有要求两个考生共同朗读对话的可能性。朗读前, 主考老师一般会让考生先看材料稍做准备;朗读之后, 主考官会收回材料, 要求考生复述材料的大概内容, 或者给出几个相关扩展问题, 请考生回答。这里, 除了考查考生的语音、语调等发音方面的准确性外, 还一并考查了考生的阅读理解能力、语篇分析能力以及口语表达能力, 也不失为一种高效的考查方式。

3. 话题演讲。

这个部分通常是给出话题的有准备的个人独白或者演讲。建议考生在给出的几分钟准备时间内, 简单地列出要点, 这样在之后不间断的独白中不至于因为紧张而不知道该说什么。话题可能是要求给出一段描述性、说明性、议论性的文字, 围绕一个人物、一个物件、一个地点或一个事件等;也可能是给出一个观点, 询问考生是否赞成;还可能是给出一个热点话题, 要求考生给出态度、立场和观点。

4. 考官问答。

这种题型出现的可能性也相当大, 对它的准备同样不容忽视。

三、口语面试中须注意的三大要素

根据测试的形式, 我们不难看出, 口语面试的目的是想看出一个人的语言综合能力。尽管形式迥异, 口试部分对于考生的口头表达能力的要求都是基本一致的。笔者根据多年教学经验和自身体会, 认为考生在准备口语面试过程中须注意三大要素。

1. 言语交际基本功 (verbal language communicative skills) 。

具体来说, 考生在朗读过程中须注意语音、语调、单词重音、句子重音、节奏、意群、停顿、连读、失去爆破、不完全爆破、缩读、弱读、音的同化等, 这些都是考查的重点。冰冻三尺非一日之寒, 平时训练要注意每个单词的发音、句子结构的变化、语调的抑扬顿挫、语言的反应速度、用词的准确性等。

2. 心理素质调适 (psychological quotient) 。

即我们常说的怯场 (stage freight) 。临场发挥一定要展示你的自信心, 如果心理紧张, 即使平日训练得再流利, 说出来的句子恐怕也犹如钝刀子割肉一般。同时, 怯场也会影响你正常水平的发挥, 会给考官留下没底气、不自信的不良印象。这需要考生在平时训练中多多锻炼自己在众多人群场合下作口头演说的心理调适能力, 要尽量展示出自己自信的一面。建议考生面带微笑, 没有哪个人会不被真诚的微笑所打动的。笔者曾经见到参加口语测试的考生紧张到面部肌肉抽搐、满头大汗的情景, 所以请考生在考前放宽心, 不要自己吓自己。在做好自己该做的准备后, 就要相信其实考官们都是很和蔼的。只有自信自如地使用表情、手势、停顿、节奏和情感, 你才能完全彻底地折服你的考官!

3. 副语言 (para-language) , 也称非言语交际 (non-verbal communication) 。

除了第一条所说的言语交际要素之外, 还要强调一下非言语交际手段在口语表达或口试中的重要作用。非言语交际要素 (nonverbal communicative skills) 主要包括:目光交流、面部表情、肢体语言、音量声调、停顿强调、情感反应、注意力集中、仔细倾听、自信热情、积极礼貌等。

肢体语言, 即手势语和体势语, 如果运用得好, 可以配合表达我们的观点。笔者赞成用适量的手势语辅助表达思想。同时保持良好的目光交流也很重要, 因为它传达的信息是, 你开诚布公、充满信心, 并且对于此次的面试兴致勃勃。应避免直勾勾地盯着面试官, 这会让人觉得具有太强的对抗性。眼神交触不够也会导致负面影响, 比如眼睛向下, 表明羞涩和不自信;眼神旁视则表明心不在焉或心神不宁、过度紧张等。

面部表情要能配合你所谈论的内容, 而不要一说英语, 就毫无面部表情。面目表情呆滞, 只能说明你平时讲英语的机会不够多, 还没有达到运用自如的境界。平常练习的时候, 可以对着镜子或在同学好友面前, 观察自己的面部表情, 尽量要求自己在说英语的时候拥有说汉语时一样的表情。

声音不要太小, 因为这本身就是你不自信的表现。也不要过大, 让考官觉得你处于不正常的言语交际状态。适当的, 也就是自然的音量和声调会给你加分。

要学会运用停顿和强调来表达自己的观点, 展示自己的语言把握能力, 还要有相应的情感反应。

在面试过程中, 保持注意力集中, 仔细倾听指令、问题等, 都能给考官留下良好的印象。另外, 要表现得有礼貌, 进入考场后, 可以热情、主动地打招呼, 鞠躬问候考官, 被告知坐下时, 可以优雅地说Thanks!退场时也别忘了鞠躬、道别等。

如果遇到没有听清楚的问题时, 可以请求考官重复或进一步澄清, 而不要胡乱猜测, 因为这会给考官留下不诚实的印象。何况, 请求澄清, 原本就是一项正常的交往手段。

最后, 口试那天要记得准时到场, 注意衣着得体, 包括合适的发型、口腔清爽、身体不要有强烈的刺激异味、注意个人卫生等, 这些都会给考官留下良好的印象。

【关键词】船员面试课堂教学技能培养面试策略

随着国际航运业的发展，优秀外派船员的需求量与日俱增。在招聘船员时，各公司也更加看重其英语口语能力。英语面试正是检验船员英语能力与专业知识的重要手段。因此，高职院校注重培养学生英语面试能力既体现了高职英语教学过程的职业性和实践性，也符合高职教育以提高学生综合职业素质为基础，以突出培养学生职业能力为核心的特点。某种程度上来说，英语水平的高低直接决定船员收入的多少。船员面试尽管涉及专业性很强的术语，但是基本口语能力和听懂考官的问题更关键。面试中所用到的英语是很有限和很常见的，所以日常用语的流利表达更能使得面试成功，令面试官满意。笔者作为高职院校轮机专业英语一线教师，旨在通过本文谈谈从教学中对船员英语面试技能的渗透培养和船员面试常见应对策略。

1 面试技能培养

1.1激发轮机专业学生英语学习兴趣。提高学生学习兴趣是高职英语老师面临的一个重要的课题。笔者会通过图片和视频，展示往届毕业生异国他乡的海员生活场景。让学生了解世界各地的风景名胜风土人情，船上工作的环境和外国同事愉快相处的情景。在教学中合理发挥多媒体的辅助作用，设置恰当的场景，通常都会充分激发学生的学习热情，使其积极配合课堂活动。

1.2采用任务型教学法在课堂中培养船员英语面试技能。本着学以致用的原则，笔者经常在教学过程中设计简单而实用的英语模拟面试场景让学生演练，并让学生点评表演者的表现。让学生在一定的场景中进行活动很重要，此时给出一些参考词汇和句子，以便于学生能够很好地准备，完成教学任务。

以轮机工程系大三学生开设的《面试英语》课程为例，笔者让学生按照课本要求从形象准备，语言准备，知识准备几个方面进行一次模拟面试。学生以小组为单位讨论如何提问以及如何回答，并在教室里将整个面试过程表演出来。小组成员为5人左右，分别扮演某知名船公司的各位面试官和应聘三管轮职位的毕业生们。面试官要搜集自己所代表公司的详细资料并设计针对性的10个问题。应聘人员要准备好英文简历以及英文自我介绍。应聘者要按照真实面试要求穿着得体，回答问题时必须充满自信，谈吐清晰，并提前了解模拟面试公司的基本情况，充分展示自己对工作的热情。然后全班同学和老师一起对本小组的表现进行评价，并指出需要改进的地方。这样使学生既熟悉了面试流程，又切实应用了所学的面试技巧，而且调动了大部分学生的积极性。

通过模拟来营造真实的面试场景，从而提高学生的面试技能，语言的综合运用能力以及临场发挥技能。它不仅仅可以培养学生的口语表达能力和水平，更重要的是强调面试技能的发挥。通过模拟真实面试场景，能够促使学生学以致用，从而更有信心应对未来的各类口语面试。

1.3注意难度的把握。考虑到高职学生的英语基础较差，模拟面试活动所设计的问题和选词都需要符合该专业学生的水平，否则会弄巧成拙，打消学生的学习积极性。老师要对参与模拟面试活动的学生给予鼓励和平时成绩奖励。在执行中以学生为中心，充分让其发挥创造性，不要过多在意句型，用词和语法错误。完成表演后的点评也要以表扬和鼓励为主。

2 船员面试常见问题应对策略

2.1 The “tell me about yourself” question。如同其他专业的招聘一样，船员面试的第一个问题通常也是自我介绍。所以面试前，不能仅满足于填写好个人简历，最好能为自己准备一段自我介绍并且熟记。在陈述时，应聘者一定要注意语速和逻辑，自我介绍的目的是传递考官想了解的信息，切忌内容混乱，条理不清。

完整的自我介绍通常包括以下几个方面的内容：A： personal information and education background. 即个人信息，教育背景。包括国籍或家乡，家庭成员，婚姻状况，个人品质，性格特点，最高学历，所学专业，所学课程等等。其中介绍自己的优点可以采用第三人称陈述，显得更加可信。例如：My teacher/classmate say I am a reliable person.

B：career and life experience 即工作经历或相关社会经历。包括是否上过实习船（training vessel），去过哪些港口，在船上做过什么职位。对于刚毕业的学生，即使没有足够的工作经验，也不可胡乱编造前后矛盾，可以介绍自己的实习经历以及在学校参加过的社会实践活动等。

C：accomplishment and personal interests 成就及个人兴趣。比如取得的证书，各种比赛获奖，或者曾经做过值得称赞的事情。关于业余爱好也可以谈谈自己喜欢的运动项目，或者和工作相关的兴趣爱好，也许考官会与你志趣相投。

D：Why you are here 这个部分可以充满热情地叙述对该公司的了解和企业文化的欣赏，以及自己最适合该职位的原因。

2.2 Did you drink and smoke？喝酒和吸烟是很多船员都有的嗜好，这会给船舶安全造成隐患。但是一个人不可能因为工作而戒掉所有的爱好。所以面试时可以实事求是地告诉考官，即使自己有这种嗜好也不会耽误工作或违反船上的安全管理规定。可以这样回答：Well， I am a smoker， but I wont smoke in the non-smoking areas. I drink only a little， but I know clearly the alcohol policy of the company， and I will never break the alcohol policy of the company.endprint

2.3 How to maintain a good relationship with your senior officers and other crew？绝大多数公司希望自己的员工谦虚谨慎，有很好的服从意识和协调能力，注重团队合作。所以这个问题可以参考以下几个方面回答：Well， I think I must be very obedient and cooperative when I am assigned jobs. Second， I must work as hard as possible to finish the jobs assigned to me. Third， I think I must show high respect to my superiors. To keep good relationship with my superiors and other crew， it is important for me to have the teamwork spirit. Besides， more tolerance should be offered to others. Lastly， be strict with myself.

2.4 Can you talk about your family？ How do you like your parents？ How often will you call back home？这个问题看似简单，实际上却能让考官了解你以后是否会安心在船上工作，是否会因为太想家而无法专心工作。所以需要表现出家人对自己事业的支持。参考回答：My parents are very nice. They are ordinary people and support my career very much. Usually， I do not worry too much about my family. If I am not busy， I can use email to contact them or phone them when the vessel is in the port.

3 船员面试注意事项

3.1 应当预先熟记应聘岗位的职责，熟悉相关国际公约。轮机长和轮机员应掌握的知识包括： 1. 船上实习的基本经历； 2. 机舱值班内容；3. 船舶维修保养与检验； 4. 机舱管理和防污染； 5. 主辅机的吊缸及检修注意； 6. PMS（Planned Maintenance System）相关知识。例如遇到涉及三管轮职责的问题：As a Fourth Engineer， talk about your responsibilities. 船东会重点考察应试船员对本职工作的理解和相关的专业知识，回答这类问题需要熟悉职责范围内的工作或分管的设备。对自己上级的工作要尽力协助，对自己下一级的工作也需要了解，总之轮机员需要有全局安全意识。所以可以给出以下回答作为参考：As a fourth engineer， my main responsibilities are as follows：（1） Be responsible for watching at periods of 08：00-12：00 and 20：00-24：00；（2） Be responsible for the operation， maintenance and repair of boilers， fresh water generator， oily water separator， all kinds of pumps， deck machineries and so on；（3） Be responsible for the operations of ballasting and de-ballasting. （4） Be responsible for testing the emergency fire pump and life boat engine. Last but not the least， I will work hard to keep the engine room in a good order and coordinate the relationship on board.
