申请者是否能够成功获得录取，除去GPA、标准化考试成绩以外，最关键的部分就是申请者提交的申请文书了。美国大学会通过申请文书来考察申请者的素质、潜力等综合实力，同时，申请文书也给了申请者一个相对自由的表达自我的机会。优秀的申请文书能够帮助申请者完成逆袭，申请到更好的大学。
然而，国内不少申请者依然在用错误的思维来准备、撰写留学文书，导致学生空有优秀的成绩，最后却只能收到名校一封又一封的拒信。比如一些申请者喜欢在文书中罗列自己获得的奖项，以此来证明自己足够优秀。这显然是国内学生的思维，先不说美国大学是否了解各种比赛的权威性，美国大学招生官已经多次明确表示，审核的标准不是以得奖的多少来定论的。
申请者在准备文书时首先需要明白一点：没有一篇优秀的文书是信手拈来的，都是不断修改、反复打磨出来的。申请者应该考虑的也不是是否需要包装的问题，而是如何包装才能起到最好的效果。如果申请者能够把文书包装到极致，那么，在我们和招生官的眼中一定是非常自然的。
文书包装到极致就是自然，乍听起来，似乎有些矛盾，实则不然。当文书包装到极致时，你会发现文书的内在逻辑非常清晰，与其它申请材料十分契合，读起来一气呵成，就像是学生心灵的自然流露，招生官不会觉得不自然。会让招生官觉得不自然、刻意的文书往往是文书内容突兀，逻辑混乱，与其他申请材料不匹配，读起来像是生搬硬造的，这些则大多是包装得不好产生的后果。
1.文书包装需要对症下药
在撰写文书之前了解美国招生官的心理是非常重要的。美国招生官并不希望通过申请者的文书来了解自己的学校有多么伟大、自己的专业有多么厉害，他想要知道的是申请者你自己为什么选择这所学校、这个专业，是一直以来的梦想，还是基于未来职业规划的选择?他希望了解的是你，你的性格，你的想法，你看待事物解决问题的方式等。所以，如果只是去
吹捧学校和专业，文书就只能起到南辕北辙的效果了。
2.文书包装需要逻辑严谨
文书包装需要严谨的逻辑，以什么方向作为主线，写什么，不写什么，先写什么，后写什么等等这些都需要申请者有非常清晰的想法。逻辑严谨还体现在文书内在的逻辑上，比如申请者打算申请计算机科学，并在文书中表示自己从初中就有这样的打算。这样的文书内容是远远不够的，申请者还要在文书中写出为什么初中就打算申请计算机科学，有怎样的经历或者事件让申请者对计算机感兴趣。添加了这些内容，文书的逻辑才能很好的自洽。否则，在招生官的眼中，恐怕会认为申请者并非自己喜欢计算机，而是受到家长或者其他人的影响或者压力才选择了计算机科学。
3.文书包装需要展现变化
部分申请者在撰写文书时很容易将文书写成流水账：我有一个梦想——实现梦想中遇到了各种困难——我成功的解决了这个困难——我实现了梦想。事实上，这样的文书是没有太大意义的。美国大学招生官希望从文书中看到的是申请者的变化，通过这些变化来进一步了解申请者的潜力。流水账的文书虽然清楚地叙述了整个事件的经过，但是完全看不出对申请者自身有什么影响，也看不出申请者有哪些成长和改变。也就是说，招生官从这样的文书中
只能了解到申请者经历的一件事情，而不能通过这件事情了解到申请者。
申请者在包装文书时应采用专业的技巧，极致的包装能够让文书实现“文章本天成，妙手偶得之”的效果。当然，申请者需要考虑可能出现的各种情况，避免文书出现硬伤或者不合逻辑的情况。

美国大学每年都有令人头疼的各种校园犯罪新闻，而申请人在未进入大学已经有这些可能为学校带来负面影响的经历，我想每个AO都不会选择如此“impressed”的候选人。
2.Heroism
虽然美国大片很喜欢展现个人印象主义，超人、美国队长、蜘蛛侠、蝙蝠侠等等形象深入全世界。毕竟电影是虚构的，现实中大学AO是不喜欢看到过多宣扬个人英雄主义的文书。很多申请人会写自己如何独力获胜足球比赛或者改变一个朋友的人生，难道你不觉得谦虚和礼让不比狂妄自大更讨喜吗?!
3.Social, Religious or Political Lectures
这种题目要非常小心触碰，你可以谈论如克隆、枪支管制、宗教信仰之类的话题，但不要在文书中明确表明对或者错这样绝对的观点。因为你不知道阅读你文书的AO，他们的看待此事的态度是否与你相悖。一不小心，你的观点可能就会引起他们的不舒服甚至反感，因为这属于原则问题，不是无关痛痒的娱乐话题。
4.Travel Journal
旅行会丰富你的生活经验，深挖细写是可以成为一个美妙的申请文书。然而，这种过多申请人写的话题若是没有处理好，就会成为一篇流水账。你要做的不仅仅是突出事实，而应该深入分析的一个有趣的经验。比如你去美国玩一圈，你能具体分析某些细节吗?比如美国超市可乐价格与中国超市可乐价格的差异，或者美国特有的In & Out 为何比麦当劳好吃等等。切入点可以很小，但一定要有细节描述和自己的想法。
5.Excuses
也许你用一些糟糕的经历作为切入点，如亲人病故、父母离异、生病辍学等，你可以描述这些事情发生后的感受，以及如何克服各种沮丧的情绪。但千万不要描述因此成绩滑落、离家出走或者做了其他一些错事坏事，因为这样AO会认为你在为自己的不良行为找借口和托辞，这不是一个思想成熟的人应该有的做法。

二、要把便于档案的管理和利用放到首位
对文书档案进行整理的过程就是以“件”为单位将小档的文件进行整理, 分别对其进行装订和分类, 并对档案进行排列和编号, 将档案编目后将其装盒。档案整理的根本目的就是要使文书档案更加有序, 便于对档案进行利用和管理[1]。因此, 在整理文书档案时要遵循的最重要的原则就是把便于档案的管理和利用放到首位。

根据《关于机关档案保管期限的规定》的要求, 要以文件材料自身的使用价值为依据, 将文件材料留存的年限确定下来。我国有两种文书档案的保管期限, 一种是定期, 另一种是永久。所谓的定期保管就有两种期限, 一种是10年, 一种是30年。永久保存指的是在正常的情况下, 对文件材料进行无限期的保存。
2. 使档案形成部门或机关之间的联系得到保持
在文书档案的, 整理过程中, 不仅要对文件之间的有机联系进行保持, 要注意分开整理机关、同级机关和本机关和不隶属的下级机关和机关之间的文件材料, 使其做到相互分离[2]。如果文件之间的联系密切, 要向上级进行请示, 等待上级的批复。绝不能因为要将文件进行分级别而分割文件档案。
3. 利用档案时要做好保密工作

文书档案是对真实的历史面貌的详细反映的载体, 对档案进行保存的目的就在于原原本本的呈现出历史的本来面貌, 因此, 在进行文书档案整理时, 绝不能割裂档案本来的历史联系[3]。
2. 要对档案的来源联系进行保持
一个个具体单位的社会实践活动形成了文书档案, 每一卷档案都有其固定的来源, 在档案接收的过程中体现出了档案的形成单位。因此在进行档案整理的过程中, 要注意不要人为的割裂档案与其来源之间的联系, 注意保持原始文书材料的生效机关和形成机关。
3. 要对档案承载物的形式联系进行保持
很多文书材料组成的一卷卷的档案, 但是文书材料的内容却是由不同的承载物来反映的。例如录像带、录音带、文字稿等形式的档案其分别是由图像、声音和文字形式进行反应的。随着计算机技术的不断普及, 我国各个领域都开始应用计算机技术, 在档案整理工作中也出现了电子文件作为新的承载物。越传统的纸质档案管理技术相比, 电子文件的管理具有较大的区别, 这将推动我国文书档案整理和保护技术的不断前进。
4. 对档案反映的内容联系进行保持
文字材料的形成一般来源于活动的举行、工作的开展和问题的解决, 这也说明形成的文字材料内容之间存在一定的关联性, 二者是不可分割的, 具有相互说明和相互补充的作用。正是因为二者之间具有紧密的联系, 还可以通过案卷的组成来对文字材料的完整性和同类型进行反映。所有有关这之间同时也存在着内在的联系。在文件档案整理的过程中要对案卷之间的联系进行尊重, 保障对所有档案进行分门别类的整理, 使成立之后的档案能够便于排序、便于管理、问题集中、门类清晰[4]。

在文书档案中所有的文字材料都来源于一定的历史时期, 具有一定的时间性。将同一时期的档案放在一起, 可以对特定时期内的一些共同内容进行反映, 从而反映出当时社会的发展趋势和情况。这就要求在文书档案的整理过程中要尊重档案形成的时间联系, 将同一历史时期的档案放在一起, 从而能够更为集中的反映问题, 使整个档案管理工作更加有序。
四、尊重、利用档案的原有基础

总而言之, 作为文书档案整理工作者我对自己工作的重要性和工作职责进行正确的认识, 深刻认识到档案管理工作的重要意义, 在文书档案整理的过程中应该注意要把便于档案的管理和利用放到首位, 要保持档案的自然联系, 要尊重、利用档案的原有基础三个原则, 在进行档案整理工作时做到更科学、更及时、更准确。

留学文书综述:
留学文书的准备是申请过程中极其重要的一环,准备留学文书也是个复杂系统的工程。除了极少数教授能够来华亲自对学生面试以外,绝大多数的招生委员只能远隔重洋依凭电话和申请资料来评判申请者的学术水平和个人潜力。专业和外语成绩是硬件,而个人陈述和推荐信等个性化的书面资料是向申请学校展示本人学术素质,个人魅力以及各种优良品质的窗口,也是打动教授的利器。留学申请文书的撰写决不能马虎而行,在中国学生G、T成绩居高不下的情况下,文书材料和大学成绩成了外国教授挑选中国学生的主要依据。
怎样从繁杂的个人综合背景,包括学术条件到个人背景素材中,提炼你最精华的部分,从而吸引你所期望入读的学校招生主任的“法眼”,令其在茫茫文海中选择录取你,而非他人,这不是一件简单的事。需要你有全局观,甚至第三人的客观角度严格全面地审视自己,你必须抓住机会,充分而且恰如其分地表现你的人格力量、智慧和已取得的成就。你的重任是让文书反映你的个性和才智。中国申请者往往没有面谈的机会,因此文书愈发显得重要。文书准备中要花大量的精力,决不能知难而退,草率从事。浅显地表达,就是申请人要学会“营销”自己,找到自己最恰当的“卖点”。既然是“营销”。就需要有的放矢,有针对性,就需要知己知彼,了解海外招生的心态究竟是什么。很多申请人按照惯用思路,期望力图借鉴“前人”的成功经验,套入某些所谓优秀的文书,很不幸的是,这些千篇一律的模式,在招生部主任眼里,不再陌生。他们已见的太多这样那样的说法,不够真实!不够出色!不够具有个人特色!有些申请人则对西方人的文化或心理不够了解,在文书中罗列出自认为非常重要的实倒或背景材料,确是对申请本身而言,无大关联的(比如你的成长经历,幼年经历的不幸……);有些申请人甚至采取了不太聪明的做法——照搬照抄某些大篇幅的段落,仅在其中技巧地更改些措辞,即便侥幸入读,一旦被发现你有杜撰、篡改个人申请材料的嫌疑,结果就不妙了。
总体而言,留学文书,尤其是高等学历的申请者(比如本科以上的申请),申请文书大致包括如下类别材料:
1.学术部分材料(学历证明、目前成绩单、在校奖励等);
2.个人背景材料(个人陈述、简历、职业规划/留学动机陈述、以及其他可以展示你学术相关背景的素材,如发表的论文/文章摘要、参加学术相关竞赛的经历、个人课外活动陈述/成果/证明,照片/作品展示,等等);
3.第三方辅助证明(在校老师/在职工作领导的推荐信、实习证明、工作成果展示/证明,等等)
4.语言能力证明材料(托福、雅思、GMAT、GRE成绩单,或语言在读培训证明,等等)。
特别说明的是,以上素材,并非每一类都需准备,申请人应就个人不同需求来摘要选择。多而全不如少而精。至于申请文书中,海外校方究竟更/最看重什么?是硬材料c成绩/GPA?语言?你目前所在的大学知名度?),还是软材料(陈述、推荐信?辅助证明?),这些观点历来颇有争议,申请人需要内外兼修,硬软材料都要精心准备,将在今后的期刊中陆续为各位读者阐述。本期,让我们首先从申请文书中分量最重要的个人陈述(Personal Statement,即常说的PS)的环节谈起,让我们看看,都有哪些思路上的误区和不适当的表达方式。当然,少不了的环节,今后陆续会为读者呈上案例解读。
解密个人陈述:
掀开个人陈述所谓的神秘面纱,让我们来看看个人陈述(PS)究竟为何重要。PS的一个最重要功能,是展示你的学术硬件条件及反映学习动机。在开始着手PS之前,首要功课(很多申请人往往忽略的),就是要针对你所申请该学校具体招生指标/要求进行深入研读,之后要设、展现出你的背景、硬软件条件是如何适合这个学校!很多申请人总以为,把自己从小学至今的所有一二三四五的优秀经历罗列出来,让海外招生官员了解“意识”你有多么优秀,就足矣。殊不知,你的这些亮点素材,并非全然适合他们的需求。比如某校某专业的招生需求,需要在微生物基因工程具有实践性研究能力的人才,而你大量篇幅强调你在校刊编辑当的多么出色,你的体育成绩多么好,那么,很抱歉,你不是他们的Cap of Tea(心仪人选)。
笔者常见到申请者的通病就是一份同样的PS发给十几个学校。有战略技巧的申请人一定是一个学校一份PS地去做准备。当然,编造经历是不行的,再怎么吹牛只要没硬素材证据很容易被看得出高低。UPenn的招生办主任就曾明确表示,他们最反感的是,看到的PS不加改动地递交给大半个美国的学校。
一个好的PS,需要结合过去的经历和对专业的兴趣来谈为什么该校的教授和研究计划对自己特别有吸引力。可以点名指出感兴趣的教授或研究方向,这样论述就具有针对性。也会令人信服。可惜就笔者所知多半的中国学生都没做到这点。Princeton物理系博士曾表示说,“我们更关心的是申请者对物理学的兴趣和动机而不是现有的专业水平,至于以前物理学基础的薄弱环节可以在以后的博士学习期间弥补”。Notre Dame的教授也曾告诉笔者,“We expect you to be a student rather than a professor(我们期望你来做一个学生而不是学者)”。所以有时PS表现出的对专业的兴趣比申请人实际具有的专业学术水平还重要。另外能说明申请者对专业兴趣的还可以通过推荐信来表现,这就是为什么推荐信和PS相对重要。
谈对专业的兴趣一定不能泛泛谈,譬如谈从小读了Elnstein的故事从而便热爱物理学是没用的,研究生结合自己研究方向谈起来比较容易些,但本科生也应该对本专业研究方向比较了解,然后结合一个大方向领域[比如理论凝聚态]谈自己的基础和对该领域未来发展的看法,对本科生来说,在文中提及“强关联作用的研究必将为凝聚态理论带来全新的概念”之类的话就够了,研究生就应该具体一些。如果该校有你知道的或仰慕的牛教授,则可详细结合他的研究方向来谈。不过必须注意,点名教授一定不能只点一两个,而应该尽量多点一些。

I don’t know what kind of chocolate life will give me, but I believe I can achieve my target if I work hard with my unwavering belief and persevering efforts like Forrest Gump. As a student of Mechanical Engineering, I have just finished my undergraduate study since July. Next what I have to face is to choose the new chocolate which I have yearned for all long. With four-year study of M.E. in China, I would like to scale higher intellectual heights by undertaking advanced studies in __ University, as I believe its rich learning environment and free academic atmosphere will open my eyes to new realities and influence me to confront the situation back home.
My strong interest in research was born during the undergraduate years at _University. Upon entering the university in , I began to embark on my journey of industrious study in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. My exceptionally solid foundation in mathematics and physics provided me with a stepping stone with which I proceeded onto the exploration of other sophisticated and erudite subjects. My performance in all the specialty-related coursework not only enabled me to secure good GPA ranking me about top 17 in my grade among 169 students but also furnished me with a powerful instrument whereby to materialize my dreams in the research. I used to participate in at least six projects including the intern work in the factory, mechanical designs and graduate design.
Especially during the period from September to November of , I read many books and journals in the field of mechanical engineering such as “Handbook of Practical Gear Design” (Written by __). In these books, I did intensive reading on the theory of the speed reducer. I investigated and discussed with my teacher on how to apply the theory into the practice. Then according to my teacher’s advice, I tried to organize a team consisting of five members to make a harmonic gear reducer. As a team leader, I should not only take charge of the whole arrangement of project but also make every member of the team cooperate with each other harmoniously. Before starting the program, I, together with my team, made a detailed plan covering the schedule, materials, and equipment. The first step of our work is the design of the reducer. The design plan is as follows: (1) Set down the blue print. (2) Complete 3-D solid model with Pro/E software. (3) Finite-element analysis with ANSYS software. (4) Assembling simulation by using Pro/E. (5) Complete the 2-D draft of part and assembly. After two-week design work, we stepped to the next work, manufacture of the product. With the aid of the technique of computer, we plan the manufacturing process of every part. And then, all parts were made with various machine tools such as CNC lathe, wire electrical discharge machine, vertical machining center, and so on. Finally, we had toassembly all parts to the harmonic gear reducer, and test-drove it for many times. With five-week unremitting efforts, we succeeded in the project of harmonic gear reducer and obtained the highest praise. This special experience makes it very helpful for my further study. Firstly, I find the connection between theory and practice. Textbooks could hardly cover everything, therefore, if we want to learn more, we should pursue every opportunity to have practices. Meanwhile, I experienced the importance and mightiness of cooperation. In the project, we divided ourselves into several parts, not only doing one’s own work well, but also cooperating with each other harmoniously.
Another case worthy mentioning is my design project for graduation, “Manufacturing and Performance of Electroplated CBN Tools”. The main objective of this project is the manufacturing of the electroplated CBN (Cubic Boron Nitride) wheels and the research of its performance when grinding the heat-resisted steel. I had completed three steps of task. Firstly, I took charge of the manufacturing of electroplated CBN wheels, covering the following work: selecting electroplating solution, computing various electroplating parameters such as electrical current and temperature, adhering CBN to the tool base by electroplating a nickel layer. After these basic preparations, I had to do the second part of the research work to compare grinding abilities of electroplated CBN wheels with those of other wheels such as SiC wheels, Al2O3 wheels etc. This part of the work needs the researcher’s highly particularity and staidness. I did the detailed work as follows: (1) Grind heat-resisted steel with various wheels in the same grinding conditions. (2) Record data and compute the grinding ratio of various wheels. (3) Measure the surface roughness of the heat-resisted steel ground by various wheels. (4) Observe dulling and pullout of abrasive grains of various wheels by using optical microscope. In this part, we can conclude that electroplated wheels have far better grinding abilities than other wheels, by comparing parameters, such as grinding ratio, surface roughness etc. The final assignment of the project is to find out the most suitable parameters of grinding heat-resisted steel with electroplated CBN wheels, through comparing the grinding ratio and surface roughness of heat-resisted steel ground in different grinding parameters. By investigating the attributes of electroplated CBN wheels and concluding their practical grinding parameters, this project is very important in promoting the application of them.
China’s unique advantage of labor force predicts the resplendent future of its Mechanical Engineering, especially the manufacture, and it is our belief that this day will come soon. On the other hand, there are so many experienced technicians in China, however, with the absence of advanced experts many advanced producing method cannot be used in practical yield. When I worked as intern in some factories, I found that most of them were still using facilities which were used in America about thirty years ago. Therefore I want to use the advanced knowledge earned in United States, combined with my acquaintance with China, to improve the present situation and apply best the advanced scientific technology to practical social wealth as soon as possible. I hope to become a successful researcher in Mechanical Engineering, the arduous but exhilarative field. By now, a pattern of multinational competition has developed and China’s accession into the WTO has provided it with a rare opportunity to integrate into the international mainstream economies and to realize its immense development potential. But at the same time China is bound to an important obligation—its solemn promise to abide by all the rules and regulations of trade as agreed upon by all the WTO member countries. Under such circumstances, it is necessary for China to open its market according to prevalent international conventions and practices and bring its mode of economic operation and management, along with relevant laws and regulations, into an international framework until absolute conformity is achieved.
Against such a larger background, the physical and geographical concept of the nationality of an enterprise has been virtually eliminated. The intensification of international competition is bound to create resource allocation on a global scale. How to implement cross-population and trans-cultural management system and comprehensively elevate international competitiveness is a challenging subject that enterprises in developing countries like China have to face. It is precisely based on this recognition that I, now on the verge of completing my undergraduate program, plans to pursue a master’s program in management whereby I may study and research on how international economy operates and how multinational companies apply their effective management.
My four-year undergraduate program in Broadcast and Television Journalism at the Department of Journalism and Information Communication of _ University of Science and Technology has enabled me to acquire an open mentality, acute insights and rich practical experience. I have been the top student of my class, not only because of my consistent No. 1 ranking in terms of academic performance but also because of my role as major organizer of a number of extracurricular activities related to journalistic practices. 一、报考流程
