二、重视听说教学

初中英语的语音和听力教学主要侧重于音素和读音规则,只有掌握好发音和读音规则,才能为初中阶段的英语学习打下良好的基础。首先,要提高学生的听说能力,营造英语环境至关重要,所以坚持以英语组织教学是树立师生听力自信的基础。如果教师每堂课都以英语组织教学,鼓励学生积极参与教师组织的听说活动,给学生最大限度的听说机会,那么学生的听说能力一定会有所提高。其次,教师应好好利用教材中提供的所有有声资源。在Comic Strip和Reading的教学中,可以让学生在没有字幕的情况下观看视频,不仅可以激发学生的兴趣,还可以锻炼他们的听力水平。在Integrated Skills的教学时,一定要根据不同的材料辅以不同的听力技巧的点拨与培养。再次,必须讲解听力训练。目前的《同步听力训练》是很好的听力训练资料,要好好加以利用。学生在校期间可能时间比较紧,无法进行听力训练,可以利用周末时间听完后教师再进行批改评分,集中归纳讲解。同时,教师要尽可能利用现代化的多媒体设备进行听力训练,如听英语歌曲,观看原版电影片段,收听英语广播等,帮助学生创建良好的听说氛围。

小学英语教学以听说为主,接触的阅读材料比较少。而初高中阶段,阅读能力是学生英语能力的核心要素。近年来中考和高考对于阅读能力的要求不断提升,不少学生出了考场就抱怨英语太难了,有好多题来不及做,其实就是阅读理解难,一旦阅读理解难度提高了,时间上就来不及了。因此,在初中阶段就应该注重阅读教学,教给学生正确的阅读方法、阅读技巧,培养学生的阅读能力,为在高中继续学习英语打下良好的基础。

首先,要好好利用教材中的Reading部分提升学生的阅读技能。我们目前使用的牛津版教材初中英语7A的课文相对比较简单,高年级几本教材中的课文篇幅增加了很多,阅读量明显加大,课文的信息量也随着话题内容的多样化而不断扩大。教师可以紧密联系教材,在完成课后练习的基础上,通过各种各样的训练方式,如快速阅读、细读、归纳文章大意、复述课文等方法来提高学生的阅读能力。

其次,要培养学生良好的阅读习惯,阅读习惯的好坏直接决定阅读的速度和阅读理解的能力。一是要杜绝口读、指读、唇读、不断回复等不良习惯,这些不良习惯会影响阅读的速度和效果。二是要培养学生的阅读速度。研究表明,阅读速度快的学生把握文章主旨大意的能力优于阅读速度慢的学生。初中生的阅读速度普遍较慢,因此建议教师在课上进行限时阅读。三是要鼓励学生联系上下文语境猜测词义,不要一遇到生词就想着查字典,以初中生的词汇量,阅读中遇到生词是难免的,教师应引导学生通过上下文猜测词义。

在多次听课中,笔者发现,将近百分之八十的教师注重词汇的意义呈现,但在读音方面,仍习惯于“领读”方式,学生机械跟读。在这样的学习状况下,学生课后离开了教师的辅导,很难自己复习巩固所学词汇,为数不少的学生只能凭印象大概地读,经常是反复读错,花了很多时间,但因为方法不对,给背诵记忆带来了困难。很多初中学生因为初一词汇学习没能养成良好的拼读习惯,慢慢在初二时就成了英语学困生。

学生在进入初中后,词汇学习一个明显的改变就是慢慢由教师的“教读”转变为“自读”,改版后的新教材7A Study Skill板块中,都是辅导学生如何根据音标音节读背词汇。教师不仅要在教这个版块时教会学生这一技能,更得在平时的教学中不断强化这一技能,直至学生养成自我学习朗读生词的习惯。《新课标》中明确提出学生“在学习中积极思考,主动探究,善于发现语言的规律并能运用规律举一反三”。在英语词汇教学中,引导学生发现读音规律,并能运用规律学习生词,是小升初学生词汇学习的一个重大转变。

二、在词汇知识方面,教师“讲解”向学生“自学”的转变

小学生的词汇学习一般以教师的“讲解”为主,教师主要以划背短语的形式帮助学生理解单词用法。所以,小学里学生所学的词汇知识是非常有限的。但到初中就完全不同了,初中学生要求课外阅读量要达到十五万字以上,依赖老师的学习方式是根本不能达到这样高的要求,学生必须学会自我学习词汇。学生自我学习词汇主要有三种形式:

小升初的学生存在的最大问题就是学习盲目。很多学生一直在学,英语提高就是不快,也不知道怎样应对考试,所以得不了高分。对于很多孩子来说,现在最头疼的是不会语法。语法项在短期内很难解决,不如把时间花在增加词汇量和复习重点句型上。这两年的小升初英语考试,更强调英语的实际运用和词汇在语境中的正确运用,逐渐弱化了对语法的考察。在增加词汇量的同时,还要增加英语阅读理解题型的练习,原因是英语阅读是考察学生英语综合能力的必考项之一,所谓“冰冻三尺,非一日之寒”。在阅读中提高语感,增加词汇量,考试时做题就会得心应手。写作方面要做到三勤:勤阅读,勤积累,勤动手,把平时阅读文章积累的句子运用到写作中,切忌用中文思维写句子。

现在,笔者就分别从听力,阅读,语法三方面来详细谈谈小升初英语复习及备考策略:

一、听力

英语语言能力主要体现在听、说、读、写四个方面,笔者认为听力是最基本也是最重要的能力,听的能力增强了,会带动其他几个技能一起提高。

在平时的教学中笔者发现很多学生都会出现如下困难:不能耐心一次性听完一段话,必须听一句就停一下;很难将听到的内容和考试卷上的题目内容结合起来;听的过程中遇到了不熟悉的单词,就十分害怕。以上问题的出现主要原因是缺乏有系统的持之以恒的听力训练。说得直接些,就是同学们平时听得太少。那么究竟听力方面我们该如何来训练呢?笔者觉得听力练习应该从学校发的磁带出发。如果一开始就选择课外的材料,学生和家长都很难把握听力材料的难易程度。而目前小学英语听力考试播放的录音语速和平时同学们听的课文磁带语速是很相近的。又由于听力录音的材料源自课文,从词汇方面来说就不会出现超出大纲的情况。当学校发的课文磁带你感觉听得烂熟以后,可以开始精听训练。刚开始要放一句停一句,先自己口头重复听到的句子,然后动笔写下听到的每个句子。等到你的句子听写完全正确没有任何错误的时候,你就可以开始听段落了。先放一段录音,然后停下来,尝试口头复述听到的段落。反复几遍以后,再试着把听到的段落用自己的表达写下来。每天坚持15-20分钟,时间长了你会发现听学校的磁带已经完全没有困难了。下一步是选择适合自己年级难度的,并且要是自己感兴趣的小对话,小故事等英语磁带来训练。最后再辅以几套听力题目的训练,熟悉做题的方法。相信以此坚持,循序渐进,同学们的听力能力一定可以得到较大的提高。

二、阅读

提高阅读能力不仅是为小升初考试做准备,更是为了更好的适应初中英语的学习而做准备。小升初考试中的阅读是通过有效阅读积极获取相关信息并解答相关问题的过程,这个过程是学生将段落里的信息与题目内容结合来找到正确答案的过程。因此好的有效阅读是有目的的带着问题的阅读,而不是斟词酌句的阅读。阅读习惯的培养也不是一蹴而就的,需要每天坚持,建议同学们可以每天进行10-15分钟的阅读。此外,在读之前选择恰当适合的材料也是十分重要的,我认为还是应该从课本着手。先把课本上的材料看懂,读熟。每一个课本上的阅读问题都对答如流了,再去寻找一些适当的课外读物,最好是选择可以分级阅读的读物。刚开始阅读时,可以选择性的读一些自己感兴趣的话题,这样,你就觉得自己愿意读下去,实际上这就是一个成功阅读的开始。当然,为了面对考试,在阅读的时候还要辅助做一些习题。光读不练,对于做题的能力提高没有帮助。我认为,在小升初的冲刺阶段,每天至少要练习三到四篇阅读理解题。

三、语法

对于小学生来说,语法的学习不能光靠阅读语法书,记忆规则来完成,这样既枯燥又收效甚微。因为在小升初英语的考试中,从来就不会考试具体的语法概念,考题中更多体现的是运用。通过对具体的题目分析运用来考核你对每一项语法点是否掌握透彻。所以,对于小学生来说,要想把语法知识学好,用好,一定不能死记硬背语法书,最好的办法就是多阅读,从小培养良好的语感比学任何语法书籍都要更有效。当然,到了高年级,除了继续培养语感外,为了更好的应试,学习并明确相应的语法知识也是必要的,但方法一定要适合小学生的特点,要先大量练习正确的固定短语搭配或句子构成,再让学生自己找到规律并总结规律,最后老师再明确所学语法点。在小升初备考阶段,对于语法考点,要做有针对性的练习,做到熟记于心,应对自如。
